MADISON, New Jersey, March 24, 2011 – Later this month, Quest Diagnostics will demonstrate how physicians can benefit from $39 billion in federal incentives by utilizing Care360™ EHR. The 12-week, 10-city Care360 EHR Road Test tour was developed to help hospitals and physician practices across the nation experience first-hand the operational and financial benefits of electronic health records and Care360 EHR.

To stimulate EHR adoption among ambulatory practices, Quest Diagnostics is taking its Care360 EHR solution directly to practice locations – allowing physicians and their staff to better understand the benefits and impact to their practice prior to implementing an EHR.

The Care360 EHR Road Test tour will provide healthcare professionals with a live, interactive demonstration of Care360 EHR software and the opportunity to learn from industry experts about EHR benefits for physicians, patients and other healthcare practitioners.

Featuring a state-of-the-art, 38-foot tour bus equipped with learning stations, the tour will provide visitors with insights on EHR features and functionality, including Clinical Decision Support (CDS), ePrescribing, secure messaging and Care360 EHR iPad® and iPhone® applications. Physicians will learn how they can access Care360 EHR at home, in the office, or at the hospital using the latest mobile devices and explore technology that can enable “virtual office visits” for their patients.

According to experts, adoption of Electronic Health Records is expected to accelerate as federal incentive programs make healthcare providers eligible to receive up to $44,000 over five years for successful implementation of a qualified EHR and demonstration of using the EHR in a meaningful way.
