ExamOne celebrates Life Insurance Awareness Month by investing in consumer experience improvements

August 30, 2019

ExamOne, A Quest Diagnostics Company and leader in providing services for the risk assessment process for life insurers, is proud to take part in Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM), a national campaign led by Life Happens. The primary goal of LIAM is to communicate the importance of life insurance for individuals.

This year, our focus has been on three initiatives designed to help make the underwriting process faster for insurers, and the application journey easier for applicants. They include:

  1. Helping insurers issue policies faster with new data-driven tools,
  2. Improving the experience for applicants with new consumer outreach initiatives, and
  3. Expanding our in-center network to provide more exam options for applicants.

New data platform helps insurers make instant decisions

HealthPiQture™, our highly-flexible platform introduced this year, provides insurers with real-time results using prescription and laboratory history. For a more in-depth view of an applicant, insurers can include a comprehensive exam and scoring models into their workflow. “We have made significant investments in our processes that will help insurers make quick decisions and reduce their overall cycle time,” said ExamOne President Stuart Smith. “With HealthPiQture, insurers customize it to fit their needs. We work with them to understand their goals and then design a workflow that helps them achieve those goals.”

Additionally, we now have access to up to seven years of laboratory testing results from LabCorp, as well as ongoing access to Quest data. “By expanding our data sources and offering a solution that can fit any workflow, we are better aligned to meet the needs of our customers,” said Stuart.

More consumer outreach initiatives designed to increase completion rates

To facilitate the completion of life insurance requirements, another priority has been providing more consumer outreach options. As a result, applicants can now go online to complete their health history interview. This unique online option allows applicants to complete this step of the application process at a time and place that is convenient to them.

We are also excited to introduce texting notifications for applicants. These notifications will include appointment reminders and confirmations. By incorporating these additional applicant touchpoints, we expect to see an increase in completion rates, fewer reschedules and faster turnaround times.

Expanding exam centers across the country for more appointment options

Finally, as part of Quest Diagnostics, we now have access to more exam centers nationwide. We have added hundreds of Quest Patient Service Centers to our network for our life insurance applicants. “This expansion delivers on our goal to improve the applicant experience by providing life insurers and their applicants more options and more appointments for completing the life insurance exam,” said Stuart. “We are proud to offer the only exam center network of its kind in the industry.”

Life Insurance Awareness Month is an opportune time to communicate the importance of life insurance to friends, family and co-workers Throughout the year, it is our goal to ensure we provide you and your applicants with resources to make this process simple and easy.
