ExamOne supports Life Insurance Awareness Month

August 31, 2021

ExamOne, a Quest Diagnostics Company, is acknowledging the importance of life insurance during September as part of Life Happens’ campaign Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM). Life insurance is an important decision and can provide financial security to loved ones during a time they need it most. As a leader in helping insurers complete the underwriting process, we are proud of the work we do and are committed to serving applicants, agents, and life insurance carriers.

“I joined the ExamOne family this past summer and have been proud to see how this team continues to serve our life insurance partners, as well as applicants, through everyday innovation and commitment to service,” said ExamOne President, Subu Ramachandran. “During such an unprecedented time, our examiners continued to perform exams and our laboratory technicians worked tirelessly to test all specimens. They were our frontline heroes and I am extremely grateful for their dedication to the company and our customers.”

Investing in consumer initiatives to improve the applicant experience

From appointment scheduling to accessing personal laboratory results, making the life insurance application process easy and simple for applicants is a top priority.

Recently, we redesigned our scheduling platform, ScheduleNow™, allowing applicants to easily schedule their exam appointment with fewer clicks, additional appointment options and a more mobile-friendly interface. This new design also gives applicants the ability to reschedule or cancel appointments, as well as request a date and/or time frame for their exam appointment. When a valid applicant’s email address is provided on an unscheduled order and there is availability on our ScheduleNow calendar, the applicant will receive an email[a] with self-scheduling instructions.

Applicants also have the convenience to choose to have their exam completed at their home or office, or at one of our 1,000 exam locations. Between January and June 2021 nearly 15,000 life insurance applicants completed ExamOne’s applicant satisfaction survey. Of those who had an exam completed at an exam center, 52% said they chose the exam center location because it was the most convenient place for them and 92% said they were satisfied overall with their experience with ExamOne.

Lastly, as part of the life insurance exam, applicants can securely and conveniently access a comprehensive, easy-to-read laboratory report through ExamOne’s Inside Look®. Access is made even easier by inviting applicants to opt-in on the laboratory ID slip to receive a text message when their results are ready. As a result of this new texting enhancement, utilization of Inside Look has more than doubled and we’re delivering health reports to more consumers.

“This was the most professional, thorough and easy to understand lab work that I have ever received. I really appreciate the quick turnaround and the automated report that was generated and made available to me for my review. Your team has done an incredible job of documenting and providing results. I especially appreciate the descriptions used on each lab test and what the results mean. Thank you so much!”

Providing insurers real-time, heath-based data for quick, confident decisions

As our industry continues to evolve and insurers expect data within seconds for faster underwriting decisions, it’s crucial to feel confident in the information you have on your applicant. Backed by the depth of Quest Diagnostics, our real-time, health-based insights provide you with the detailed applicant information needed to make decisions quickly. Through ScriptCheck®, LabPiQture, and now medical claims information, insurers can receive up to 7 years of historical health data.[b] These insights have been critical during the risk assessment process over the past year and have helped insurers accurately separate low risk from high risk.

We look forward to sharing new innovations throughout rest of the year and into 2022 including our online interview platform, electronic health records (EHR) partnership, and expansion of our texting program. We are committed to serving you, our life insurance partners, your agents, and your applicants.
