LENEXA, Kansas, March 11, 2011 – ExamOne, a Quest Diagnostics company and leader in helping insurers meet their underwriting needs, announced today that it named Dr. Jim Palmier, a long-time health care executive with experience in medical affairs, customer relations and marketing, as Medical Director.   Dr. Palmier comes to ExamOne from Ciba Vision, a Novartis eye care subsidiary, where he was Vice President of Global Professional Services.

At ExamOne, Dr. Palmier will oversee ExamOne’s clinical approach to laboratory testing, research and development, paramedical services, and the development of the Life Insurance Laboratory Index Report annually published by ExamOne.  Dr. Palmier will work with ExamOne’s clients to highlight the innovations and expertise associated with the company’s approach to empowering advancements in underwriting.

Dr. Palmier worked with health care professionals to support sales, marketing, professional affairs, and customer relations at Ciba Vision.  Prior to that, Dr. Palmier had worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals and GlaxoSmithKline Plc in a variety of executive roles including managed care relations, sales & marketing, and wellness.  Dr. Palmier obtained an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Health at the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health.  Dr. Palmier’s medical training came from the State University of New York – Upstate Medical Center and his residencies were conducted at Johns Hopkins for Occupational Medicine and The Medical Center of Delaware Inc. in Wilmington for Emergency Medicine.
